Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist

DSC_7863

After a career in Information Technology Management, I found my true calling as a psychotherapist serving diverse populations. Since then I have done extensive work in outpatient therapy, community mental health, crisis services, conflict resolution and service linkage.

My goal is to help those experiencing anxiety, depression and the impact of trauma (including racial trauma), life transitions (i.e., relationship issues, infidelity, addiction, grief) and those who may need a safe and healing place to nurture their own growth. I am passionate about providing gender-affirming care to adults, adolescents and couples. I firmly believe in social justice and access to mental health care for all people.

So if you’re ready to do the work, then I’m here to help! Simply request an appointment and let’s chat about your individual plan to achieve your optimal mental health.

Evidence-Based Methods

*NOTE: Not all therapy methods are utilized for all persons seeking therapy. A psychotherapist’s job is to diagnose and determine the best methods for personal success in therapy sessions.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a psychotherapy treatment method that reveals a client’s unprocessed traumas through fixed eye positioning.

EDMR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is psychotherapy treatment designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories.

Seeking Safety

Seeking Safety is an evidence-based treatment model that treats co-occurring post-traumatic stress disorder and substance abuse.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a form of psychological treatment that helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.

Gottman Method

The Gottman Method is an approach to couples therapy in which the goal is to disarm conflicting verbal communication, increase intimacy, respect, and affection, remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy in conflicting situations, and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.

SFT

Solution-Focused Therapy is a therapy model that places more importance on discussing solutions than problems. Beyond understanding what the problem is and deciding how to address it, solution-focused therapy will not dwell on every detail of the problem you are experiencing.
